First and most importantly, we want to recognize that all of you are doing great work under the most challenging circumstances.
Communication is so important at this time to make sure that everyone is getting good, factual information.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority is expanding their broadcast system to the entire province. It will be used to convey urgent COVID-19 updates to SHA staff, physicians, and affiliates.
To make sure that you are getting the information you need, please go to www.mygatewayonline.com or www.mygatewayonlinerqhealth.ca if your workplace is in the former RQHR to ensure that your phone numbers are correct. Let others know to do the same. They started test broadcasts yesterday, so if you did not receive messaging, please follow the steps to update your information.
CUPE is using our email system to communicate with you as well as the Local 5430 website, https://www.cupe5430.ca/, which has a COVID-19 tab. In addition, we are posting to the Local 5430 Facebook page, www.facebook.com/cupe5430. Individual inquiries can be made to the region’s email or telephone number that we are sharing on each communique. You can also use those contacts to provide information to your region or the local about what is happening at your workplace. If you are not getting the email updates and would like to, please provide your email address through the email or phone number listed, and we will update your information.
We are working on further communication in the form of questions and answers, and it will be posted on the website.
We have a negotiated Employee and Family Assistance Plan (EFAP). We encourage you to access these services if you are struggling during this difficult time. There is a wide range of confidential and voluntary support services for you or your family members to assist with resolving everyday challenges, complex issues, and everything in between at no cost. Fees for the EFAP service are paid in advance to ensure your privacy, and the services are completely confidential. No one, including your employer, will ever know that you have used the service unless you choose to tell them. The toll-free phone number to call is 1.844.336.3136.
We understand that during this pandemic the employer is closing down or limiting some of their regular services to make capacity and redeploy staff to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are affected by these changes, and the changes create an issue for you due to your health, childcare, transportation, or a different hardship, please contact the region office for assistance. We are working with the employer on the issue of redeployment.
