Your Bargaining Update August 30, 2026
Dear member,
Your bargaining committee met with SAHO on August 27th and August 28th. Unfortunately, the employer has made little movement on our key priorities and continues to stall negotiations unless we accept their unreasonable proposals around the movement of work/workers and contracting in. We know that we cannot continue to exchange the same proposals back and forth with the employer without movement on their part. That’s why we are considering all processes available to us to conclude bargaining.
That is also why we are holding a strike vote between September 8th and 14th. While voting yes does not mean we are immediately going on strike, a decisive strike mandate shows the employer we are united and ready to fight for the deal we deserve. You will receive a ballot by email when the vote opens. All you need to do is select your choice and hit submit.
We know members have questions. We are hosting another telephone town hall tomorrow, Monday, August 31st at 6:30pm to make sure we are accessible and able to answer them. Every member will receive a phone call and have the opportunity to join and ask any questions they might have about this process. If you miss the call, you can join in either of the following ways:
Dial-in Number: 1-877-229-8493
Pin: 117363#

The next bargaining dates are scheduled for September 10th and 11th.
In Solidarity,
Your Bargaining Committee:
